Document: Amrita's Spider Shifter Briefing for Safiya
Amrita has contacted Safiya telling her that she has the information she requested and that she can come by Amrita’s office at Club Libertas to pick it up. There is a well protected sealed envelope with Safiya’s name on it. Inside of the envelope is an unusual looking document.
Below are the contents of the document that Amrita has put together summarizing her findings from researching the spider shifters that Safiya approached her for information on. It takes the form of a personal note and then short informational write up on durable parchment that is painstakingly written in blood.
The document is created through the Thaumaturgical Ritual: Encrypt Missive. It is encoded magically to ensure that only those it is intended for can read it. In the case of this missive, only Safiya. Anyone else looking at the document sees only gibberish. If someone tries to make a copy of the document, the message remains scrambled.
Safiya,
I have compiled a summary of the information that I have been able to research on the type of creature you described. Please be aware that much of this information is conflicting and there is no definitive source from which to pull the essential information from. There is simply very little information available on these creatures. The following information is as complete and accurate as possible under the circumstances.
I hope that this information will assist you in your task. I do not know if it would be something that the creature might be interested in but I could potentially provide a means to preserve a supply of blood indefinitely. Also, if the creature happens to possess any jewelry items that it might be willing to part with, I believe that I could make use of such things.

The Anasazi (Were-Spiders)
Basics:The Anasazi, or were-spiders, are one of the shifting breeds similar to the werewolves. They are a blending of man and spider and have the ability to take the form of either. They are known to be great collectors of lore.
They, like the werewolves, have a tie to the spirit world and the ability to enter the umbra, which is a sort of spiritual plane that overlaps with our own material world and often has reflections of what can be found here. The Anasazi have the ability to interact with the spiritual being of this plane similar to the way the other shifting breeds do but little is know about the exact nature of their interactions or their spiritual abilities.
Behavior:
The Anasazi are solitary creatures and typically do not like to be bothered by anyone. They display great animosity towards the other shifting breeds, but the reason for this is unknown. They also seem to consume blood for nourishment, though it may be more complicated and more the way spiders liquify the flesh of their prey.
Their predatory instincts associated with spiders may lead the Anasazi to engage in behaviors that can be perceived as morally questionable by human standards. They are typically described as emotionless and bloodthirsty, even their own kind. There are even accounts of these creatures eating their own parents when they first develop the ability to shift. There is some speculation that the were-spiders may grapple with the dual nature of their existence, experiencing internal conflicts between their human and spider instincts.
Shapeshifting:
The Anasazi have the ability to take either human or spider form. When taking the form of a spider, it is a massive spider considerably larger in size than that of their human form. They also have the ability to take the form of multiple smaller spiders. This is something that appears to be unique to their breed among the other shifters, but very little is known about this.
Their ability to shift between human and spider forms may be influenced by external factors or emotions, making control over the transformation challenging. Their transformation are believed to be typically initiated by factors such as lunar cycles, emotions, or deliberate will.
Spider Abilities:
The Anasazi are reported to have a variety of special abilities similar to those of spiders. In their spider form, were-spiders possess enhanced physical abilities associated with spiders. This may include increased agility and strength. Were-spiders often have heightened senses, particularly in their spider form. This may include enhanced vision, the ability to detect vibrations, and an acute sense of smell.
In addition to these benefits the Anasazi reportedly have a number of more spider specific abilities. Some were-spiders can produce silk, either for defensive purposes or as a means of constructing traps and webs. Many were-spiders are depicted with a venomous bite. The potency of the venom can vary, and some were-spiders may have the ability to inject venom that induces paralysis or other effects. They may even possess the ability to climb walls.
Weakness:
There is very little information on the weaknesses of these creatures. Much of what is available is merely speculation based on what is known about some of the other shifting breeds such as the werewolves. Anasazi are often described as having an allergy or vulnerability to silver. Additionally, the lunar cycle may play a role in a were-spider's abilities and transformation. Full moons might enhance their powers, while new moons could be a period of weakness.
While little is known for certain about their weaknesses there is one thing that seems to be consistent throughout the literature. Anasazi are notoriously difficult to destroy
